Fundamentals of CrossFit

New to Crossfit? Try our Fundamentals of Crossfit class! The Fundamentals program is a judgment-free introduction class programmed under the CrossFit principles but with an emphasis on skills development and conditioning. The program starts on the first Monday of each month; and over the course of four weeks, builds on the core functional movements to ensure you have a sound and confident grasp of each before moving on. Each class focuses on 2-3 specific Crossfit movements with an emphasis on safe and effective performance. Classes finish with a Crossfit conditioning workout-of-the-day (WOD) to use what you just learnt, and build endurance and mental toughness. Some movements you can expect to learn are:

  • Clean and Jerk
  • Snatch
  • Deadlift
  • Back Squat
  • Strict Press and Push Press
  • Box Jumps
  • Wall Balls

Fundamentals is held three times a week for one hour: Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. If you are interested in Crossfit, but have never done Crossfit before, you must complete 12 sessions of Fundamentals of Crossfit. Once you have completed these sessions, you may enter into our regular Crossfit classes throughout the week. For Fundamentals, all you need to bring are tennis shoes, comfortable workout clothes, and a desire to better yourself and learn new skills!
